Telforce Group is looking for Alarm Technicians. 

This is a direct hire, full time position.

Work is located throughout Iowa.

Summary

The purpose of this operating procedure is to establish and define the authority, accountability, reporting relationships, responsibilities, duties, and measures of performance.

Job Description and Duties

Perform the alarm installation, testing and service functions on systems serviced or sold Assist in design and sales as necessary.

To make certain that the assigned jobs are completed on schedule, meet company quality standards, and meet or beat the budget.

The Alarm Technician is responsible for recommending and selling needed services to customers and potential customers.

The Alarm Technician reports to the Branch Manager

The following positions report directly to the Alarm Technician:

Technician(s) – Temporary Assignments as necessary

Education

 Required: High School Diploma or equivalency

Preferred: Technical Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

 Licensing/Registration/Certification

Required: Ability to obtain NICET Level II Alarm Certification.

Required: Valid Driver’s License

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Knowledge of the industry’s codes, rules, and regulations.

Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.

Must have sufficient math skills to be able to calculate material requirements for basic electrical and mechanical work, understand layouts and take field measurements.

Must have the ability to learn to read electrical and alarm CAD or Blueprints.

Have the general electrical and mechanical skills and common sense necessary to perform the alarm inspection.

Ability to diagnose alarm and fire suppression equipment failures and make the necessary repairs.

Ability to install, service, and repair fire suppression equipment.

Must have ability to install the wiring and make the electrical connections for the systems installed.

Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.

Must have the ability to work with the scheduler to organize the workload to make the best use of time and materials.  This includes the ability to handle the pressures of deadlines and customer demands.

The physical requirements are many.  Walking, climbing steps and ladders, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, pulling, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are required.  The Alarm Technician must also be able to regularly lift 50 bs. and occasionally lift up to one hundred pounds.

The senses of sight, speech, touch, smell and hearing are required.

Working Conditions

The Alarm Technician will mainly be working at customer locations.

While working, the Alarm Technician will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.  The Branch Manager will make all decisions regarding work stoppage due to weather.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a Background, Drug and DMV screening to be considered for all job openings. Candidates must have a valid driver’s licenses and be insured and the ability to travel up to multiple weeks at a time.
