TelForce Group is looking for an Assistant Controller in the Nashville, TN area. This is a full time, direct hire position in our corporate office. This position directly assists the Controller with all Accounting duties.

Assistant Controller Description:

  • Assist Controller with all accounting and financial activities
  • Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable management
  • Make calls and send emails to Clients as needed for Accounts Receivable’s late payments
  • Provide Payroll support to Controller Monday and Tuesday
  • Manage weekly paper flow of and assist in collecting TelForce Group timesheets
  • Thoroughly check Payroll for any errors and verify when everything is accurate
  • Data entry for various financial reports- Gross Margin Reports, Commission Reports and others as needed
  • Prepare monthly Gross Margin Report and Commission Report
  • Monitor work flow to ensure timely completion of accounts and finance activities
  • Setup, open, maintain and close accounts with various states
  • Maintain state, garnishment and tax filing for Controller
  • Files compliance reports with appropriate agencies
  • Complete payroll in absence of Controller if needed
  • Manage time reporting via TSheets for all TelForce field employees
  • Enter per diem and mileage for travel field employees
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal accounting laws
  • Intuit tax updates
  • Handle cash applications and credit card applications
  • Assist in Workers Comp audits
  • Backup for all Controller duties as needed
  • Assist in keeping office and financial filing system organized and in alphabetical order
  • Manage filing system and keep files clean and current
  • Other duties as assigned

Assistant Controller Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of QuickBooks experience; experience with TSheets a plus
  • Knowledge of accounting practices
  • Knowledge of state and federal financial reporting laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, reporting and investment practices
  • Knowledge of 940/941 taxes
  • Knowledge of balance sheets and financial statements
  • Knowledge of EFT process and direct deposit payments
  • Experience with per diem and mileage preferred
  • Experience with payroll garnishments (child support, etc.)
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook skills
  • Must have high energy and a positive attitude
  • Pays close attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment, manage multiple projects and problem solve
  • Ability to effectively present financial information and respond to questions as needed
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically as well as make suggestions for improvement
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments
