Position Description:

The Business Development Manager, Residential Properties is responsible for developing trusted business relationships and partnerships with residential real estate developers, property ownership groups, and real estate professionals who are associated with existing and new build residential developments and apartment buildings in Georgia. He/she positions Company as a premium, “need to have” fiber services provider at these properties, effectively communicates Company value propositions, and identifies new fiber build opportunities to expand the Company network and create new sales opportunities. The Business Development Manager partners closely with Company Marketing, Sales, Construction, and Operations team members and utilizes a strategic sales approach. He/she builds and maintains an ample pipeline of business development prospects in order to consistently meet or exceed assigned business development objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and maintain trusted business relationships and partnerships with residential real estate developers, property ownership groups, and real estate professionals who are associated with existing and new build residential developments and apartment buildings
  • Develop strong relationships with Economic Development and Planning Boards in counties served by Company
  • Identify new residential business development opportunities with an emphasis on new build areas
  • Attend tradeshows and host customer events to expand residential business relationships and identify new fiber build opportunities
  • Communicate regularly with real estate developers and sales professionals at new home construction areas to promote awareness and interest in Company Fiber
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Company value propositions and capabilities and articulate them effectively
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of market competitors and their sales and marketing strategies
  • Practice strategic, consultative selling in concert with a “team selling” approach
  • Perform lead generation and account penetration activities on a consistent basis, including professional networking plus telephone, email, and in-person prospecting to build a sizable business development pipeline
  • Maintain an ample pipeline of business development prospects to consistently meet or exceed assigned business development objectives
  • Update and maintain accurate business contact information in the Company sales system
  • Accurately forecast future residential business development successes by month
  • Develop and leverage a list of partner and customer references to support new business development efforts
  • Provide recurring reports detailing business development and new build progress at residential developments
  • Develop and make Company “Welcome Programs” available to support property developers, ownership groups, real estate agents, and residents at their properties
  • Communicate regularly with Company Marketing, Sales, Construction and Operations team members regarding strategic business development opportunities and conduct joint sales calls as needed
  • Provide insight and suggestions to the Marketing team on tactical initiatives, including advertising, digital and social media, and event and sponsorship opportunities to engage prospects in new build opportunity areas
  • Promote a positive reputation and brand image for Company Fiber in our service areas
  • Travel to assigned market areas and stay overnight as needed based on needs of the business
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned by management
  • Deliver consistent and on-time attendance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university is preferred
  • Three years of successful technology sales and/or business development experience in residential real estate is preferred
  • Existing book of target customer relationships is a plus
  • Thorough understanding of executive relationship development and the strategic sales process
  • Strong business and financial acumen with an understanding of the economic drivers in residential real estate
  • Working knowledge of high-speed Internet, wireless voice, traditional voice, cable TV, and home security and automation solutions
  • Experience in developing, negotiating, and executing customer contracts
  • Must have reliable transportation, a good driving record, and be willing to travel when required based on needs of the business
