Telforce is looking for a Capacity Manager/Dev Ops
Full Time – Direct Hires - Hybrid positions - Pay Rate $75-$110K
Job Summary
Responsible for engineering and tracking capacity of Optical, Ethernet, and IP products and services at Company Technologies. Requires strong understanding of software development principles capacity and planning across multiple HW/SW vendors. Must be able to work individually and as part of a team while multi-tasking and adapting in a fast-paced environment. Requires excellent internal communications skills with occasional customer interaction. Provides tier 2 & 3 support for the NOC including 24x7 on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute scripts and test plans to certify products and services with regarding capacity management
- Publish MOPs/EDPs for delivering new service, maintenance, upgrades, and augments using automation tools
- Develop automation tools
- Configure tools to monitor and report capacity across optical transport, carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS, and SD-Wan platforms
- Review all reports and report any trends to management
- Provide capacity report and recommend additions based on capacity trends
- Provide technical expertise and support to various internal departments
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Capacity Planning – building/modifying new and existing capacity reports for IP/Transit/Ethernet networks
- Forecast future demand based on current trends and analysis, and report those results to Management in a timely manner
- Analyze capacity reports to drive capacity planning for future network growth (including inventory management and hardware forecasting)
- Automate data gathering and reporting (Perl or Python preferred)
- Work with the NOC in testing/validating IP/Transit/Ethernet networks regarding any issues reported by new and existing customers
- Ability to certify new hardware and software in a lab environment for new products and services
- Ability to automate data gathering and reporting (using Perl or Python is preferred)
- Ability to add new tools for the NOC to assist with their troubleshooting of new/existing customers
- Strong documentation, communication, and presentation of methods and results
