TelForce Group is looking for an Environmental Specialist in the Upper Peninsula & Southeast MI. This is a seasonal position.

This person would be responsible for ensuring district compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations for environmental protections for land and wildlife safety and conservation.

Environmental Specialist Description:

  • Develop and maintain environmental information regarding surrounding areas
  • Update and deliver information to management regarding surrounding areas
  • Ensuring that we maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations for environmental safety
  • Maintaining accurate records of areas and logs
  • Submit clear and concise written reports of field inspections
  • Develop and enforce environmental guidelines and practices
  • Stay current and up to date with local, state and federal environmental regulations
  • Generate environmental report as requested by regulatory agencies
  • Recommending and developing programs needed to comply with federal, state and local regulations
  • Coordination with federal, state, and local agencies regarding environmental safety
  • Prepare guidance and direction to management for ensuring environmental compliance
  • Prepare permit applications and agreements as needed
  • Identify and solve environmental violations
  • Assist in developing project proposals and statements to determine overall budget and schedules
  • Educate workers on environmental health and safety precautions

Environmental Specialist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical, environmental, or biological science.; Master’s degree a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with telecommunications fiber networks is a plus
  • Working knowledge of areas
  • Ability to understand and apply government regulations to related environmental areas
  • Extensive knowledge of the EGLE (Environmental, Great Lake, and Energy) program
  • Experience working with National Forest and Refuge Site
